Textrol Clear is the nearest you will get to natural but please note of the following.
“What colour is Clear”? Many people are confused by this. Textrol Clear on your wood (irrespective of what type or colour of wood you’ve got… light, medium or dark) will look as it would after rain – not when your wood is dry.

Textrol Golden Oak is a bit darker than Clear. Golden Oak will last longer than Textrol Clear (due to pigment) so if you want a longer lasting product, choose this. It will lighten up to look more like Textrol Clear in about 6 months or so due to UV rays etc. Fabulous on Cedar!

Textrol Rustic Oak is the darkest of the three. A bit ‘teaky’ looking with a reddish tone.
Rustic Oak is longest lasting of the three due to extra pigment. Easiest to maintain long term.

Note*: On the initial treatment (after a big clean up etc) a minimum of 2 coats of Textrol should be applied ‘wet on wet’ i.e. as soon as the first coat has soaked in - apply the next coat. i.e. Keep it ‘on the move’ for maximum penetration.
If your wood is really ‘thirsty’ consider a third coat. If any areas become ‘full’, wipe off excess to prevent skinning. As with all our products, please get in touch with us if you need any help or advice re any of the above.

Note: If there is varnish or paint etc on exterior wood, it requires a different approach. Ask us.
Note: Danish Oil is a generic name given to wood oil. Textrol is a superb oil for any exterior wood such as garden tables, chairs and of course decking, spindles etc. Great for Pine, Cedar, etc.

If you have hardwood decking or garden furniture made from teak, ipe, balou etc, consider our Deks olje D1 as a deeper penetrating oil that may suit certain circumstances. Some people apply D1 first and apply Textrol later in the year. The idea here is that the D1 is more penetrating and the Textrol has more anti-UV properties.
