Exclusive, renouned, hard wearing wood finish
If you’re looking for something to make wood completely waterproof and fabulous looking at the same time.. check out Deks Olje from Owatrol.
Used throughout the world for decades, Deks Olje is the leading solution for waterproofing and protecting wood on boats, yachts, cruise liners etc.
It is also a great solution for garden furniture, windows, doors etc.
The products comes in 2 versions, Deks Olje D1 and D2. D1 is used for waterproofing or as a ''gripper coat'' and D2 optionally for finishing, when a high gloss finish is required.
The idea is to let the wood soak in as much D1 oil as possible (with a wooden boat this can take numerous coats) after which it is left to dry/harden which it does in a matter of several days.
After that, the wood is completely impervious to water, indeed, you can submerge it as is the case with boats.
The oil soaks in quite deep in softwoods, less so in hardwood, but it also works on pine, mahogany and teak (saltwater won’t then turn it gray).
Excellent for hardwood furniture and decking.
Left as is, D1 will give your wood a beautiful Satin finish, and if you want a high gloss that will NOT peel or flake, apply a few coats of D2 over the D1.
It gives a superb finish and does not peel or flake.
If you intend to use the D2 as your finish, you only need one or two costs of D1 first to get a good strong deep grip.
